Ashley Ingalsbe is the climate adaptation storytelling intern at the Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (NW CASC) through the University of Washington (UW) EarthLab Summer Internship Program. Throughout the summer, she will be supporting the center’s communications program and working to develop a “science spotlight” that highlights NW CASC-supported research for the climate adaptation community in the Northwest.

Ashley is a rising fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Washington studying environmental studies with minors in business administration and data science. Prior to joining the NW CASC, she served as an earth and energy intern with UW WashPIRG, where she worked on outreach efforts to mobilize local climate initiatives and increase student voter turnout. She also served on the editorial board for FieldNotes, a student-run environmental science journal, where she developed articles and blogs that brought environmental topics to the student community.

Ashley is passionate about making research more accessible through storytelling and is excited to help connect NW CASC’s science with its audiences, including regional researchers and resource managers. Outside of work and school, she enjoys spending time with friends, exploring local cafes and going to concerts!
