Bio

Dylan Quinn is a doctoral candidate at Washington State University, Vancouver in the Environmental and natural resource sciences graduate research program. He received a master’s in water resources from the University of Idaho and graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s in environmental science. Outside of the office and lab, you can find him sailing, skiing or swimming across the waters (and snow) of the Pacific Northwest.

Dylan’s graduate research is focused on providing science-based tools and models to enable land managers to bolster our adaptive capacity to high-severity wildfire under climate change. By using field, laboratory and remote sensing methods, his research will improve numerical models of how wildfire impacts the water cycle and surface water quality, with a focus on predicting and mitigating wildfire effects on availability and quality of water for human and environmental needs.
