Jay Carlisle

Bio

Jay Carlisle is the research director of the Intermountain Bird Observatory (IBO) and a research faculty in the Department of Biological Sciences at Boise State University. Jay oversees and collaborates on many bird research and population monitoring studies, primarily across the western United States, as well as some international projects. He also enjoys advising graduate student research projects. He’s especially passionate about migration and stopover ecology as well as collaborative research and conservation efforts for conservation-reliant species. In his free time, Jay enjoys time with his kids and family, birding, soccer, trying to speak Spanish, and international travel.
