Bio

Josephine Chia is the regional climate partnerships intern with the Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (NW CASC) through the University of Washington (UW) Earthlab Summer Internship Program. Josephine is passionate about connecting people across disciplines to innovate more equitable, actionable climate solutions. Her past work in atmospheric sciences and geography research has helped her develop interest in the interface between scientific knowledge and policy reform, which she hopes to explore further in this internship. Josephine will be facilitating focus groups following up on conversations started in NW CASC’s Loss of Winter Deep Dive Workshop. Her work will culminate in a written report and presentation on the findings of her qualitative analysis.

Josephine is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in physics with interdisciplinary honors at the University of Washington in Seattle. Josephine loves music and actively performs in UW choirs, orchestra and the UW Change Ringing Society.
