Bio
Susan Bainbridge is studying fish, wildlife and conservation sciences at Oregon State University. She has worked as a plant ecologist and botanist for agencies, non-profits and academic institutions mainly in the western U.S. and Hawaii. Susan is interested in applied science to facilitate conservation and adaptive management, as well as lend insight to ecology and evolution of species and natural systems. In particular, she is interested in climate and natural disturbance effects on native versus exotic plants and vegetation; climate change as a disturbance and how it alters results of natural disturbance; and implications of these for adaptive management and conservation. She is also interested in the potential values and impacts, best practices, implementation, and policy around assisted migration, especially for sensitive and keystone plants.
